We have been delighted to see so many of you joining us at Romano’s after the theatre, and some of our American friends (welcome to London!) have enquired about our herb & pork faggots, which are the anchor to our set menu. (It also includes salade à la russe and a chocolate éclair for £19.75; the set menu is served from Monday to Saturday from 9:45pm to close.)
What Are Faggots?
What on earth are faggots? In short: it’s a type of meatball made from offal scraps, bound together with breadcrumbs, onion, and herbs.
The word itself comes from the Old French and Latin term for a ‘bundle’. It’s a true farm-to-table dish, and one of the oldest meat preparations in English culinary history.
Try Our Post-Theatre Set Menu
On your next late-night visit to Romano’s, do give it a try — granted, we’re biased, but we find them just delicious.
And if you haven’t yet joined us for dinner at Romano’s — and tried our set menus — let’s rectify that immediately.
